FAQ: What should I wear?

We recommend that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes to any laser tag event. The shoes in particular are critical. We often can’t allow someone to play in sandals, flip flops, and similar footwear. Especially for outdoor laser tag fields heavier shoes (like hiking boots) are great. The pants, similarly, are absolutely necessary in outdoor areas, though we also highly recommend them in indoor laser tag battlefields. Why? Simply, pants cover your legs and keep things from touching them. You’d think that that’s a silly reason until you’re laying down or against cover and you’re trying to keep your knees off the floor or wall because it’s cold or the plaster is sharp and pokey or a thousand other things. When you play you want to be focused on your target and pants are a surprisingly big help in that area. Continue reading

FAQ: Is it safe?

Q: Is the Battlefield Live system used by Mike’s Combat Games safe?

Absolutely! The gaming guns only shoot infrared light. This is actually the same light that comes out of your TV remote. Admittedly, our gear projects that infrared light a bit brighter than your remote, but infrared light is completely safe for the eyes. Even though it’s called “laser tag” the guns don’t actually shoot lasers. The beams are simply infrared light that is focused with a lens to give you the range that makes play so unique and exciting.
