On the field: Laptops

We recently completed work on a updated version of one of our favorite laser tag props and wanted to share the new, improved, in-game laptop. We always use the laptop in games of Intel, although it makes occasional appearances in other games, too.

The newest version of our gaming laptop, one of the most intriguing laser tag props

Note that Intel codes and instructions slide in from the side and are behind an actual “screen” so they can’t fly away accidentally like the older laptop allowed. The laptop is one of the most visually interesting laser tag props.

The new laptop has an actual “screen” holding codes or instructions in place, can hold its screen at nearly any desired angle for the codebreaker, and is quick and easy to change out new codes.

…but Mike’s got a lot of laser tag props. Why is this one special?

So what does this mean for you, as a player? We can now run more Intel games more often without worrying about wind, etc. Intel is a very complicated game with a LOT of things for a team to juggle at once but is TONS of fun. In the past, we had to worry about the codes falling out of the laptop or blowing away when the laptop was open, which meant that we couldn’t play very often. That’s now changed! Intel is usually on the short list of “favorite games” for anyone who’s played it, so why not schedule your next event with us today and mention that you’re excited to give it a try! Don’t forget that we use other interesting laser tag props in most of our other games, too!

Field Owner notes:

The modification was much easier than I expected and I’ve got a second laptop to convert that should only take me a fraction of the time to modify. Call me if you’d like instructions. The lid is much lighter than it used to be (the actual screen itself was completely removed) but this better overall for play since the angle is held much more tightly now. It might be a bit less durable, though, so for most “transport/defend/escort the laptop” games we’ll probably still use the older, extremely durable laptop. That said, this was a cheap modification. Aside from the laptop that was headed for recycling the materials were all around my home and had a total value of less than a dollar! Easily one of the most interesting laser tag props for one of the cheapest prices.
