FAQ: What should I wear?

We recommend that you wear long pants and closed-toe shoes to any laser tag event. The shoes in particular are critical. We often can’t allow someone to play in sandals, flip flops, and similar footwear. Especially for outdoor laser tag fields heavier shoes (like hiking boots) are great. The pants, similarly, are absolutely necessary in outdoor areas, though we also highly recommend them in indoor laser tag battlefields. Why? Simply, pants cover your legs and keep things from touching them. You’d think that that’s a silly reason until you’re laying down or against cover and you’re trying to keep your knees off the floor or wall because it’s cold or the plaster is sharp and pokey or a thousand other things. When you play you want to be focused on your target and pants are a surprisingly big help in that area.

You WILL be wearing a hat when you play. Our head sensors go on a headband and we try to keep those as clean as possible, and although we ALWAYS have hats you can borrow for free you might choose to wear a favorite, comfortable hat of your choice.

Assuming you’ve got pants and shoes on you should be fine when you come out to play laser tag. Some things that occasionally help if you want to dress a bit more fully are a light jacket (or military BDU shirt) or a vest. You’ll find yourself laying in all sorts of places that you wouldn’t normally put your chest on, so having a small amount of padding or cover can make everything more comfortable.
