Mike's Combat Games is expanding!

I have the best job in the world, seriously. Every morning I wake up excited to go back to work. What do I do for a living? I'm an excitement hunter for Battlefield Live: Mike's Combat Games, LLC. We do lasertag on steroids for pain-free teambuilding and fun.

I've had a successful time building my business but need to move closer to my wife's family. I want to open a second location and would like to sell the business here. I'm open to franchising it or selling it completely. I'll share my experience and hard-fought lessons with you, connect you with the contacts I've developed here and more. I could just take the gear with me but I'd rather leave the business here so that people can continue to be served. I have a lot of customers who will be very disappointed if no one steps into my shoes here. Either way I'll be doing this in the area my wife and I are moving to. Clients that I've served in town here run the full gamut and include:

  • birthday parties
  • corporate groups (white collar and blue collar alike!)
  • the University of Oregon
  • the Marines, Navy and Army

I'll show you what I've learned in terms of marketing to those groups, how to get a hold of the decision makers, which marketing methods have worked reliably for me, introduce you to the network of other folks around the US who also do what you and I do, and anything else that I can do to help you be successful. I am internationally recognized in the industry and receive requests for advice from all over the US and beyond. I have developed a unique market niche in ways that no one else has ever accomplished and will share my knowledge with you. Mike's Combat Games has served the Eugene/Springfield area (as well as a number of Portland area clients) for over 2 years. Now I'm asking you to help me continue to serve the area here with a commitment to quality and satisfaction with a business that has proven its stability and value.

Tons of pictures from most of our recent events (as well as video and more) are available on our web site, http://www.mikescombatgames.com. If you franchise from me the Eugene location will have its own dedicated space linked from the home page, in addition to the rest of the resources on our site, which is the largest resource of its kind on the internet!

Give me a call and let's talk about giving you the most fun job ever. (541) 914-0422 or mike@mikescombatgames.com

Mike

Why is the Eugene location for sale?
Mike's moving closer to his wife's family. He could just take the gear and go but he'd rather make sure that the fans and customers he's developed here aren't just left in the cold. Mike wants to find someone who will be able to continue to provide the high level of service his customers are used to.

Is Eugene actually franchised by Mike? Is he selling/franchising a franchise?
Nope. Mike owns the business here free and clear with no licensing, franchising or other fees due to the manufacturer of the gear. It is 100% owned by Mike.

Can someone outside of the Eugene area buy Mike's business?
Absolutely! We actually have customers who hire us as far away as in Portland. We also have a dedicated base of players who attend open events up there. While we never developed the market as well as possible someone could easily plan to operate the business solely on Mike's Portland customer base and expand up there.

Who would be a good owner?
The primary characteristic that makes you a good candidate, according to Mike, is that you are enthusiastic about the sport. Enthusiasm for the sport is contagious and helps you dive into the mechanics of the games and better understand how to tweak them for players on the go. Good business sense is also important, but you can learn most of that and also hire folks to help you out with that end of things.

What's the cost?
Prices aren't finalized yet. Mike's still trying to get final numbers on what the sale itself will cost him. That said, he estimates that you should be able to franchise the Eugene loction for $30,000 to $40,000. Full ownership should be available for $10k to $15k more. Mike is selling the Eugene location cheap because what's important to him is not making a profit off of this sale but making sure that his customers are taken care of.

Why is full ownership more expensive?
Mostly because there are no ongoing franchise fees associated with it. You own the business completely free and clear. In exchange for the franchise fees Mike is offering a plethora of benefits, though. Franchising is really the cheaper approach with most of the advantages.

What does full ownership include?
You get all of the gear Mike uses here in Eugene. (estimated value: $28,000) Mike will introduce you to the folks around town who he most often does business with so that they can meet you and you aren't a surprise to them. You will be connected with all of the customers who have requested event dates coming up. (estimated event values: $4000) You'll be introduced to the independent contractors Mike has been using to run events and the locations he typically uses. In short, Mike will do whatever he can to make the transition as smooth as possible. It will cost a little extra to keep him in town, but if you wish Mike can also show you how he does what he does both in terms of marketing to each of the groups he markets to and in terms of how he does what he does on the field. This isn't necessarily a complete list, either. Ask Mike about anything you don't see here.

What does full ownership NOT include?
You will NOT get to keep the "Mike's Combat Games" name. You will only receive the folks from our e-mail list that we've collected over time who do not opt-out of letting you have their information. (We feel obliged to give them the choice, but you can help us craft the message.) This isn't necessarily a complete list, either. Ask Mike about anything you don't see here.

What does franchising include?
You will continue to use the "Mike's Combat Games" name for the business, you will have access to the e-mail list of customers and fans that Mike's collected over more than two years in business, you'll receive all of the benefits from full ownership above (except for the part about no franchising fee), you'll have dedicated space for Eugene on the mikescombatgames.com web site, the largest and most comprehensive site in the industry. You'll have just about as much access to Mike's brain as you want, whether you need help with a game, planning a new way to run operations, etc. You'll literally walk into a successful business that's been operating for over 2 years and has just begun to take off. This isn't necessarily a complete list. Ask Mike about anything you don't see here.

What does franchising NOT include?
That's a really good question. Mike hasn't figured that part out yet. Franchising the business is actually a really good deal in Mike's opinion. He wants it that way.

Mike would love to hear from you! Call or e-mail to set up a time when he can meet with you so we can start you making money sooner!
